Frankfurt/Karlsruhe, 16 October 2018 | “Digitalisation is turning our industry upside down. We can either take note of this or play an active role in the process. INTERGEO 2018 is the place to find people who have opted for the latter and promote geodesy, geoinformation and land management as independent skills in the digital revolution.” This was the thrust of the address given by Professor Hansjörg Kutterer, President of event host DVW, at the traditional opening ceremony for the INTERGEO trade fair and conference for geodesy, geoinformation and land management, held the evening before the event. In his view, our awareness of the wide-ranging facets of digitalisation will play a key role in its development. In the Emperors’ Hall of Frankfurt town hall, Kutterer called for people to use INTERGEO to gain a better understanding of digitalisation, create networks and present original ideas.
Karlsruhe, Frankfurt/Main, October 9, 2018. Professor Harald Simons has become renowned for making controversial predictions that are not always welcomed. As a member of the “Immobilienweisen” expert panel for the German Property Federation (ZIA) for many years, as well as a board member at the Empirica research group, Simons triggered a huge torrent of diverse reactions and counterarguments when the Spring Real Estate Industry Report 2018 was published. At the INTERGEO CONFERENCE this year, he is set to spark lively debate once again with his keynote speech – scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, 16 October.
Rural areas form the backbone of built-up areas and are full of potential as spaces for living and working. Land development experts Dr. Ekkehard Wallbaum and Prof. Martina Klärle are convinced that a clever form of digitalisation can help rural living to blossom again.
Potsdam, Frankfurt/Main, September 20,2018. Everyone’s talking about artificial intelligence (AI). It’s one of the key topics in the general discussion about digitalisation. Experts such as Prof. Jürgen Döllner from the Hasso Plattner Institute, whose keynote speech can be heard at INTERGEO 2018 on 16 October in Frankfurt, hardly see a field that would not be able to benefit from the advantages of artificial intelligence. He predicts that there will be a number of revolutionary changes. In his keynote speech ”4D Point Clouds and Machine Learning", he discusses, among other things, the application areas of AI in geospatial business applications and what future potential there is especially in this area. INTERGEO TV met him at the Hasso Plattner Institute of the University of Potsdam for an opinion leader interview,
