By rail/public transport

All intercity trains stop at the main station (public transport zone A). Take the number 5 (for Spandau) S-Bahn from platform 16 and after about 15 minutes you will arrive at the Messe Süd station (public transport zone B).

Intercity trains from Hamburg, Göttingen/Hildesheim and Hanover also stop at Berlin-Spandau, from where you can reach the Messe Süd station in about 10 minutes, also on the number 5 S-Bahn. The south entrance of the exhibition centre is about 5 minutes’ walk from the Messe Süd station.

You will need a ticket for zone AB for all journeys from within Berlin to the exhibition centre, including from Berlin-Spandau. Conference tickets do not include a public transport pass.

Please note that if you travel to Berlin using a BahnCard concessionary long-distance ticket, the City Ticket is only valid in Berlin for zone A (within the urban rail ring), which does not include the exhibition centre.

The exhibition centre is outside the Environmental Zone. You can find more information about the Environmental Zone here.

Visa

Visa – no more invitation letters for trade fair visa

The Federal Foreign Office informed the visa issuing posts of the German embassies and consulates all over the world that, in the future, when requesting accompanying documents for the application for a trade fair visa, an invitation letter from the trade fair organizers is no longer mandatory. Unlike for other business visitor visa, the invitation letter from a trade fair organizer does not normally have an additional substantiation function. Source: AUMA Compact 12/2013.
