INTERGEO is the world’s largest event and communication platform for geodesy, geoinformation and land management. Cologne is Germany’s fourth largest city, situated in the middle of Europe. 40 percent of the European Union’s gross domestic product are produced within a radius of 500 km around Cologne.

With over 16,000 visitors, a further rise in the proportion of international visitors to a total of 22 per cent and 1,450 congress participants, INTERGEO 2009 came to a close after three highly successful days in Karlsruhe.
The congress trade fair did far more than exceed the expectations of the organiser, the Deutsche Verein für Vermessungswesen e.V. – Gesellschaft für Geodäsie, Geoinformation und Landmanagement  (German Association of Surveying – German Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management).
